Forgotten People -Available from AMAZON BOOKS
Hello and welcome to the website.
Forgotten People is a docu-dramatisation of one story of Britain's hidden heritage. With three hundred pages, lavishly illustrated with photographs and archived maps, paintings and documents, this book relates over a thousand years of rural history; the culmination of three years research and writing.
The lords of the village manor - The Hatchers at Careby 1552-1756 - inherited medieval documents from the 12th century and archived their own 200 years of history. When the manor and village was sold, the documents passed to new owners, the Reynardsons. This family in turn documented the parish's history for a further 200 hundred years before donating over 5,000 documents to Lincolnshire Archives in 1936.
